Okay, I just finished watching Laila Majnu for the first time today and I'm speechless. I don't even know what I'm feeling right now – it hit me hard emotionally.
First off, I loved the film. Some folks call it boring, but to me it was perfect, truly great. If you watch it with a poetic eye, there's a lot to unpack, especially Qais's reasons.
About Qais – he never says "I love you" once, yet everything he does shows how deeply, madly, obsessively he loves Laila. The movie beautifully portrays all seven stages of love. It proved that actions speak louder than words; you can feel his love even without a single confession.
Now about Laila – I'm not trying to put all the blame on her, but I do think she shares some responsibility. She kept him waiting so long that eventually he stopped needing her in the same way. He loved her beyond everything.
There are moments where she could have sensed something was wrong with Qais, yet nothing changed. I keep wondering if she had run away with him or chosen him earlier, maybe he could have been saved. But that's the story, we can't rewrite it.
I felt more sorrow for Qais than for Laila.
The scene where Qais returns and collapses on seeing Laila after ages – I can't describe what that did to me. I literally cried a lot.
And the ending left me angry, heart‑broken, confused – all at once. I was sitting there thinking, "what on earth just happened?"
I wish I could forget this movie just so I could experience it again for the first time.
What are your thoughts?

Bhai, I felt a huge pang watching this movie.
I absolutely love this movie! So beautifully written ♥ Qais was just
The film shows that heartbreak can actually cause physical damage to the heart, not just emotional pain.
This film is pure heartbreak. I cried a lot and I completely blame the girl for what happened to Majnu. I really appreciate how Majnu's character is crafted, the whole arc of his mental state – loved it.
Unpopular opinion: Dimri is an average‑looking actress who's survived in Bollywood mainly because of her bold scenes.
