I still remember the first time I saw Humshakals, I laughed my head off. Seeing this rating makes me wonder if my humour is broken. Comedy films normally sit at 6-7 because humour is subjective, but a 1.8 rating just feels insane to me.

Bhai, I laughed a lot when I first saw it, but I had no idea.
Just pure time-pass.
It was ahead of its time.
I liked it and had a good laugh, but I was very young then. It's not that bad.
It was unbearable, especially when you compare it to the quality of Bollywood comedies back then.
Not really, IMDb isn't a reliable gauge. I don't agree with the 1.8 rating - it's way too high for this film. Ideally it should be around 0.5.
I watched it as a kid and loved it then; I have no idea how it feels now. I'd suggest watching it as brain-rot, with the brain switched off and no logic expected.
By the comedy standards of that era it was atrocious, but by today's standards it comes across as hilarious.
It's pure brain-rot. The director, actors and producers all knew it; nobody set out to make world-class cinema. If you watch it as brain-rot, you might find some laughs. So it definitely shouldn't be a 1.8; it should be higher. Pure brain-rot comedy that works are TMK and Phonebhoot.
