Hi, just like the title. We moved to a new house and there are power fluctuations. The console repair guy said he'd replace the power-supply unit for 16k.. We're confused whether to go ahead or get a new PS at a discount. Any other options?
Edit – the repair guy quoted that 16k for this issue.
The authorised Sony centre said they will exchange it without any inspection and give a discount of 25-30% on a new unit...

PlayStation prices have jumped by about 10-20k, so it's better to hold off buying right now.
Ask yourself, who would want a PS5 with a power-supply issue?
Try Gameloot to see if they can buy it, but I doubt any store would consider it eligible for exchange.
If you're thinking of a PS5 replacement, I'd suggest not repairing it. Go to the service centre, pay 14k and get a new replacement PS5 with a one-year warranty, even if it's out of warranty. I've done the same.
I don't think anyone will buy a defective console except for scrap. Tough luck.
How do you know it's due to power fluctuations? Is your voltage low or what?
OP, do you use a UPS with your PS5?
Find a local console repair shop and get it fixed. Mine was shot and repaired for around 6k; it's been working fine for six months now.
Try googling VSG in East Delhi. If you're not in Delhi you can mail it. He's very knowledgeable and trustworthy.
I'm also going there for a power-supply fix. He quoted me 9k for a new power supply for a PS5 Slim disc version.
Don't get it repaired; go for an exchange, get a new PS5 and buy a UPS this time.
Now I'm worried about using my PC without a UPS. Our house has a lot of power fluctuations; the voltage drops to 150V sometimes and stays around 170-200V most of the time.
