Here are some things you can try:
Don't waste your first year. Use the time to explore different interests - maybe try digital marketing or coding for a few months to see if you like it.
Tier-3 colleges often don't have a strong peer group, so shape your own circle. Hang out with ambitious, career-focused and studious people; the company you keep influences your mindset.
Start looking at master's options and future career paths early.
Work on confident English speaking, communication and presentation skills.
If you can't find a good offline crowd, join quality online groups and connect with intellectually-oriented people.
Build a LinkedIn profile and list any achievements or progress you make in studies or projects.
Keep a decent-to-good CGPA; it can help when you apply for a master's or MBA later.
Finally, enjoy college life. Taking breaks, joining fests, hangouts or parties when you feel like it makes the experience memorable.
