The Delimitation Bill is about women's reservation just like Sanchar Saathi was about finding lost phones. It shows they treat the Indian public like a flock of sheep, expecting us to follow blindly.
Manipur is complicated because of Meitei separatism, Kuki conversion, and fuzzy political lines. Imposing President's Rule, then conducting a search-and-cordon disarmament of all sides, and finally implementing the court orders could restore the state to federal democracy.
Meiteis - the majority community, mostly Hindu, living in the Imphal Valley - make up about 53% of the population but own only around 10% of the land. The Kuki-Zo tribes - minority tribal groups, mostly Christian, living in the hills - account for roughly 40% of the people and hold about 90% of the land. The violence broke out on 3 May 2023. Tribal groups (Kukis and Nagas) staged a big protest march against a Manipur High Court order from April 2023. Clashes started after the march, first in Kuki-dominated areas like Churachandpur, then spreading to Imphal and elsewhere. Immediate trigger: Meiteis have been demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for years. That would give them the same special benefits as Kukis - reserved govt jobs, college seats, and the right to buy land in protected hill areas. In April 2023 the High Court asked the state government to consider this demand quickly. Kukis protested strongly, fearing Meiteis would take over hill lands and cut tribal quotas. The protest turned violent. Now tell me what you want - the Kukis are behaving like militants attacking para-military forces and if the govt takes any tough steps against them, the same people cry about democracy. NIA arrested foreigners (US ex-military, Ukrainians) for drone training and supply to militants; there are reports of Christian orgs and ex-US personnel helping the Kuki side with drones and vests; arms and drugs are moving through the porous border. Critics say it's a narco-insurgency push for "Kukiland". Hr cheez ko bina jane gyan dene ajao sb yha bs sb ko alg alg land dedo hr koi dange krega sabko support krdo.
Nah, this country is going to mess up soon; patriarchy is so bad... literally anything about women makes people turn against them.
It was an election speech by a BJP leader, not the Prime Minister addressing the nation. A party leader who still has an MLA like Kuldeep Sengar in his ranks shouldn't dare speak about women's rights.
Manipur me sab thik? Women are being paraded naked. I think the PM's office staff aren't updating him about this, otherwise he would apologise and try to fix it. I pray to God that he discovers the Manipur situation himself during his 18-hour daily work shift.
