I was watching Saiyaara recently and, this might be an unpopular opinion, Aneet Padda did a below-average job in the film. Yes, she and Ahaan had good chemistry and looked nice together - a refreshing, age-appropriate pair - but Aneet's expressions were almost the same in most scenes. Whether she was admiring Krish, yearning for him, crying for him, happy for him or in love, her face stayed constant to me. I don't get why people hype her acting so much. She can certainly improve, but her role in Saiyaara didn't mesmerise me.
While I'm not a fan of many untalented newcomers, Ahaan was decent in the movie; at least he tried. He delivered the aggression and lover-boy vibe well. For a debutant he was alright, though his future will depend on his choice of films, characters and acting. He did a good job in Saiyaara.
I've seen many praising Aneet, so I wanted to share my view as well. It's just my personal opinion.

Aneet Padda isn't perfect as an actress, but she's certainly not the worst either. She's far better than Ananya, Sara or Jahnvi.
Her fans don't seem to care; they're already busy planning her wedding with Ahaan Pandey.
She's no Son Ye‑jin, that's for sure.
Most Hindi film actors portray disease or blindness like a deer caught in headlights - the artifice is so obvious.
The whole movie is just average, yaar.
While I felt Aneet was okay in Saiyaara, not spectacular, I later watched a Prime show called "Big Girls Don't Cry" and her acting there really impressed me. A lot of her fans praise her because of that performance.
I liked her a lot. Speaking from personal experience with a family member who has dementia, the way she showed the constant back-and-forth over information was spot on. Her scenes of rage and confusion - the knife scene, the party scene - were nailed, damn good. The diagnosis scene was also realistic; they didn't make it melodramatic. The story itself was really weak - the original was much better and they didn't even copy it fully. Her character had no depth unlike the original, serving mainly as a plot device about her disease, but she definitely did her part well. I'm not a fan of the film, but the actors kept me hooked, so to me she is very promising. I'll be interested to see what she does next.
I, as a fan, agree that some scenes could have been performed better, but considering it was her debut, she really impressed me - especially that knife scene. I don't know how others felt, but I enjoyed her there, and the music monologue in the studio was great.
Saiyaara was my first time watching her, but after I saw the "Big Girls Don't Cry" series, I loved her work and refused to believe she can't act or looks bland. She really stood out, in my opinion. That said, she's only one movie old right now; I'd appreciate it if people wait for a few more projects before forming a final opinion.
