Simple brother, in Hyderabad most people are from Andhra state (yes, once upon a time we were all Andhra Pradesh folks) but now, since they don't have a team, they cheer for CSK and RCB. My Andhra friends openly said this with a grin, lol.

He was shown in the team bus video, so the crowd expects he'll play. Maybe that's one reason - not sure, just sharing my point.

Many people in Hyderabad support Dhoni and Kohli. Individual player worship is bigger than anything. They still entered the stadium hoping to see Dhoni at least in the dugout. Many Telugu accounts are loyal to Dhoni and Kohli even on social media - nothing to do with the franchise. If you talk cinema with them, the same CSK fans will start trolling Tamil fans, and vice‑versa.
