Title: Investing in Indian corporate bonds: safety, risks & returns?
Post by: Ramesh on Apr 13, 2026, 10:19 PM
Could you tell me whether FDs or mutual funds are better options, or if there are any other investments you'd recommend over corporate bonds? Also, where do you usually get updates and info on corporate bonds?

I feel nothing is safe to invest in India right now. One moment you're living the FIRE life, the next you could end up struggling because of the corrupt system.

I'd suggest going for US bonds if you have the chance.

In my view, you shouldn't be putting money directly into bonds because of diversification concerns. The slightly higher returns from corporate bonds usually aren't worth the big jump in risk. I'd go for G‑Sec instead.
