I applied for the Senior Software Engineer – Java backend role. A few weeks back I got a Hackerrank OA link, completed it and then HR called to discuss my background. After a couple of days, the same HR called again saying the hiring manager liked my resume and wanted to set up an interview. She asked about my availability. That call was on Saturday and she confirmed they'd schedule the interview for Monday and send the meeting link. But I never got any invite, so I called on Monday morning. She said she had forgotten to schedule it and would do it next week. Still no invite, so I called again and she again said she forgot and would schedule later. The same story repeated once more. In the end I never received any interview invite. Today I got an automated rejection email saying, "Although we were impressed with your skills and qualifications, we decided to move forward with other applicants who demonstrated a stronger alignment with the desired qualifications for the role." My background: 2023 NIT graduate, 6‑month internship + 2.8 years full‑time experience, working in a product‑based financial services MNC (not GS, MS, JPM), remote, 20 LPA.
Simply put, you've been rejected. There could be many reasons.
I'm not in tech, but I work in finance and a colleague had a similar bad experience with Wells Fargo. HR asked his expected CTC, set up the interview rounds, and he got good feedback. But when it was time for the offer, they said his interview performance wasn't up to the mark and gave him a low‑ball offer.
She rejected you, move on. Wells Fargo should be laying off people now too.
I had a similar experience with Wells Fargo a while back. The HR kept calling me every week to schedule the interview, but never sent the invite link. This went on for about three weeks. On the last call I told them to either schedule it that day or I was out. Unsurprisingly, I never heard from them again.
They ended up picking another candidate who had lower salary expectations, a stronger skill set, and performed better in the interview.
I'm facing the same thing with DE Shaw. HR said the interview would be on Saturday (tomorrow) but I haven't received any invite. I followed up by email and got no response. :(
Wells Fargo HR has a terrible reputation. They keep forgetting basic tasks. Even candidates who got offers faced delays. It's a case of rampant mismanagement.
Bruh, you got rejected... Sorry to break the news, but it's crystal clear.
Wells Fargo came to campus, I was selected for an interview, then got an email saying the interview was postponed because the manager was unavailable, and the interview never happened. I was left confused with no reply or any communication.
These are fake job postings they use to collect resumes and claim government subsidies.
