Title: Prefer dad bods/soft bodies over rock‑hard abs on guys?
Post by: Kartik on Apr 09, 2026, 08:49 AM
I know the trend says I should be drooling over V‑tapers and perfectly toned muscles, but I'm not into that. Those flawless bodies just don't appeal to me the way a slight belly (not obese) and a bit of softness does. Maybe I just want a partner who's a bit cuddly, someone I can rest my head on. Hope I'm not the only one feeling this, lol.

Definitely don't want someone whose whole personality revolves around workouts and the gym.

Yes, it makes them seem human. Plus, I don't know why, but guys with the most perfect bodies feel like they have nothing else to offer.

You've spoken my heart. Dad bod looks so cute and comfy.

Here's the thing – a really ripped guy looks fun, but I guarantee a guy with abs all year isn't a happy guy because it's extremely high maintenance (same for women with a completely flat stomach, it's not realistic all day). What I want is my man to be strong, that's attractive to me, but I don't want him miserable just to keep that physique. It's true the way to a guy's heart is through his stomach, and 9/10 times a guy who can't eat freely isn't a happy guy.

I didn't realize it, but the last guy I was with and my boyfriend now both have softer bodies. I didn't think much about it with the last guy because it was just a random FWB thing, but wow, my boyfriend's body sometimes makes my mouth water. I genuinely can't stop touching him.

Fit body over dad bod or perfectly chiseled body. Visible fat is a turn‑off for me – just my personal preference.

Meeeeeee. I love resting my head on my boyfriend's belly, sleeping on his hand and squeezing his cheeks. He's like my personal teddy bear.

I also like dad bods, but not obese, and a bit of muscle.

I have never met a guy who has chiseled abs and self‑acceptance together. The chiseled ones are self‑obsessed and think every woman is equally obsessed with them. They lack personality and can't even hold a conversation for 2 minutes like a normal adult. I like guys who follow self‑care routines in all aspects – health, skincare, finance, hygiene, cooking, chores, humor in distress, love for family and the environment, etc.
