Title: Snowflakes allergic to criticism – stop the fanboy hype
Post by: Varunesh on Apr 07, 2026, 02:54 PM
Whenever anyone criticises PW, these die‑hard borderline cultists launch a down‑vote brigade. To Alakh Pandey they're like the Fremen were to Paul Atreides in Dune – he says something and they go "Lisan Al‑Ghaib!".

Why can't people see coaching centres for what they are? You pay for education; it's not free. It's a business that depends on volume of sales. How hard is that to get? And these so‑called teachers are engineers. Sure, a few have natural teaching talent, but almost 8/10 don't have an M.Ed or B.Ed. In a regular school, 11‑12th teachers must be PGT, which requires an M.Ed. Coaching centres operate in a "grey area", so they can hire anyone. If Robert Downey Jr. were cheap enough, they'd even hire him for brand value (I know it sounds silly).

I'm not saying you need a degree to teach, but you do need to prove you can teach. Teaching isn't "15‑minute question practice and 2‑minute jokes". You have to spot which student is falling behind, etc. None of that happens in a typical coaching centre, certainly not online.

Be a student, not a fanboy or fangirl. Alakh Pandey won't put food on your table or pay your parents' medical bills. He won't cover your phone EMI. His affordable batches are useful, but they're not "God's gift to mankind". They're just another product in a market that created demand. Think of them as a POCO F1 in the iPhone X market – affordable and decent, but not "Lisan Al‑Ghaib!" or "As it was written!" or "He's the voice from the outer worlds".

BE A STUDENT. NOT A FANBOY.

True, man, I agree, but it's not worth it for the kids. Some guy said the notes stay the same after the first lecture, and PW kids are pretty dumb, to be honest.

Or maybe, you just aren't familiar with different teaching methods. I agree Saleem Sir can be a bit too jolly while teaching, but he does teach well and students understand the material. Usually he's like that in the initial phase of the batch to hook students – not the best approach, but if it works, it works.

Everything was fine until you compared the Poco with the iPhone X in a big 26✌

If cracking jokes here and there helps you get the topic, what's the problem? Teaching and studying should be enjoyable, though I agree some teachers overdo it.

Exactly, I've heard this from a lot of people. They told me to study from Salim Sir because he teaches well, but he gets agitated over every single comment and throws a tantrum every ten minutes. That completely broke my flow and really annoyed me.

Bhai, try giving a serious lecture once. Then you'll realise why it matters. Doing teen‑level serious lectures all day isn't possible.

Bro, you're upset because you got downvoted? Come on. Not everyone has to agree with your opinion, you know that, right?

Hi, your original post has a weird undertone. Yes, teaching isn't limited to a 15‑minute explanation, but if you can explain a topic in 15 minutes that someone couldn't grasp in an hour, it says a lot about you. And about breaking momentum – not everyone can sit still and absorb everything. Humor is actually a good way to relieve stress and catch students' attention. (Here's a paper I'm referencing: Garner, R. L. (2006). Humor in Pedagogy: How Ha‑Ha can Lead to Aha! *College Teaching*, 54(1), 177‑180. https://doi.org/10.3200/CTCH.54.1.177-180) Just because you think they don't teach well doesn't mean PW isn't a boon for millions of kids who can't afford 2‑3 lakh coaching fees. In a country where "affordable education" often means government schools with teachers who don't even want to teach, and cracking competitive exams needs extra coaching, PW acts as a lifeline. They provide a platform and resources; you can't expect them to hover over your shoulder and see if you're failing. That's on you. If you can't study even when everything is provided, a teacher with a degree won't save you either. Whenever someone does something good for people, they get idealised. Extremes exist everywhere. When you share your opinion publicly, it becomes public opinion and people will either support or oppose it. Your view comes from a place of privilege.

Bhai, you should stick with a teacher whose style matches your frequency. I don't get the same from RJ MR Sir, but I do from Saleem Sir. That doesn't mean I'll spread hate against anyone or their students. I'm always with teachers who help you learn better.

Eight downvotes were enough to shut down the OP.
