Title: 38kg→71kg in 5‑5yrs, 25yr old, 10yr lifting transformation
Post by: Varunesh on Apr 06, 2026, 04:45 PM
It's been almost 10 years since I first set foot in a gym. I come from a very humble background – sometimes I only had one meal a day, but the gym was the only place that made me happy. The membership used to cost 250₹ and I'd often pay a few months late because that's how things were. The owner was kind enough to let me train without asking too much. After I got a job in 2021 (during the COVID period), I started taking it seriously: I began eating protein, followed a regular diet for the past two years, and now I'm on whey protein and a few supplements. Money is still tight, but this passion is something I'll never give up. I've also started creating content on Instagram hoping to become popular someday, lol. Just wanted to share my journey for no particular reason :)

My current calorie‑deficit diet is just two meals:

First meal – 150 g high‑protein oats, 250 ml low‑fat milk, one scoop whey, plus 10 g creatine before the workout.

Second meal – 4 whole eggs, 2 rotis with a little sabji/dal, and one scoop whey before sleeping.

That's roughly 1,400 kcal and 100 g protein, keeping me full when needed and helping me focus on work.

Workout routine – I don't follow a strict plan, I train intuitively, but I hit a few key lifts every week:

Weighted dips – 35‑50 kg for 2 sets to failure
Bench press – 100 kg for 3 sets (my PR is 13 reps)
Weighted pull‑ups – 20 kg for 3 sets
Squats – whatever feels heavy; my PR is 147 kg for 5 reps

One of the few realistic transformations on this subreddit – after just 6‑8 months I could look like Arnold

No offense, but at your height was it easier to gain weight or is it the same for everyone? I've been bulking for 6 months and only put on 7 kg so far.

Finally something real. Most Indian fitness subs show guys gaining massive muscle in a year and a half or dropping weight like a popped balloon – that's rare in global fitness communities.
