Title: Any whey in the froth?
Post by: Ashwin on Apr 05, 2026, 11:53 PM
Guys, should I just swallow the froth or can I toss it after drinking the liquid part of my protein shake?

I just want to be sure I'm not throwing away a lot of whey.

By the way, this is TWT whey isolate.

Leave it for a few minutes; it should mostly settle. But why does it look like bubbles from a soap bar or something?

Dude, is this whey or detergent? Mine never makes this much froth. I'm using The Whole Truth unflavoured concentrate.

Detergent, is that what it is?

If you have a frother, try using it next time and see if that fixes the froth problem.

I got a massive amount of froth with Isopure and Wellbeing Nutrition isolate, but nothing this crazy.

It looks just like detergent.

I use Muscle Blaze and never get any froth at all. This looks fishy—go back to basics and research which whey to buy.

If your whey froths, it means it contains protein—maybe less than 1 g of protein in that foam depending on the amount.

If it doesn't froth, it could be protein‑free or heavily loaded with lecithin to help it mix with water.

P.S. Why does yours look like detergent foam?

I've tried almost every reputable protein brand and none of them make this much froth.
There could be three reasons:
1. Your milk is terrible—some fake milks use detergent to mimic real milk froth.
2. Your protein might be sub‑par. Stick to verified brands; you can check trusted YouTube channels for recommendations.
3. Bottle issue: a poorly cleaned bottle can create foam, or you might not rinse it well enough.
