For context, I've got a decent physique (check my profile) and long hair that I tie up in a bun while working out. This trainer – who's pretty unfit, FYI – was chatting with two other guys who are about his fitness level. A long‑haired dude was doing leg presses behind me. He turned towards us and said, "Aaj kal ke ladke ladikya jaise dikh rahe hai aur ladkiya ladke jaise." The two guys didn't get the 'joke', so he repeated it. I had my headphones on but wasn't listening, so I guess he thought no one would hear. At this point I feel most trainers in India get hired for their uselessness rather than actual fitness.
Chhod de yaar, tu gym karne aaya hai ya validation lene? Unka gossiping hai, bas karne de.
Ignore them, brother. Those people aren't worth your mental space. Thinking about them is a waste; their words don't affect your life. Just focus on your grind, friends and family.
It just shows their mindset. Stay confident in how you look.
Unki baaton pe dhyaan mat de, bhai tu sher hai.
Lift heavy in the gym, not in your mind. Letting it mess with you isn't healthy.
Man, I also want long hair as a guy. Not super long, just enough for a small ponytail. I look good with it and feel confident, but my family won't allow it. Fuck this society.
True, I just say hi and bye, no extra talk. Anytime Fitness has a few mota trainers too. They're always pushing PT packages for 14k, glued to their mobiles, chatting with aunties, thinking girls are just a 'taste'. That's all they do.
You could have shouted to yourself, "Aaj kal ke gym trainers roadside chapri jaise lagne lage, aur chapri trainers jaise." He'd have gotten his answer in the backside.
Next time he says something, just reply with this:

I'm from Delhi, been in Pune for 2 months now. I've been on and off exercise since 2008, hitting 10‑12 gyms in Delhi NCR. Most trainers there sound just like you described, but Pune trainers are quieter, mind their own business and look professional. I think the north has a toxic masculinity vibe in gym coaches who think they're above everyone.
