Title: Monthly fitness & nutrition spend?
Post by: Lokesh on Apr 03, 2026, 01:55 AM
I've started tracking my expenses for 2026, so I jotted down my fitness and nutrition spend yesterday. I spend less than Rs 7000 per month and have seen good progress.

Here's my monthly breakdown (80 kg male, vegetarian, lifting 3‑4 days a week):

* High‑protein Amul paneer: Rs 1500
* Muscleblaze Biozyme whey 1 kg (1 scoop daily): Rs 2400
* Wellcore/MB creatine 100 g: Rs 550
* Soyabean: Rs 150‑200
* Gym fees: Rs 2k

I live with my family, so regular meals are covered. I've heard some folks who aren't even competing spend Rs 15k+ a month on supplements.

Curious to know how much you all spend on fitness each month?

Looks solid. In my view, around Rs 5‑6k is enough for good progress if your diet and training are on point.

Just the protein sources—chicken, eggs, skyr, whey, low‑fat paneer and milk—can run you about Rs 11‑12k a month. It varies a lot depending on whether you pick whey isolate vs concentrate, skyr vs Greek yogurt, and so on.

I spend roughly Rs 15‑20k on things like whey protein, Amul paneer, egg protein shakes and protein chips.

I used to spend half my salary on supplements, but I realised it wasn't worth it—I'd lose gains whenever I stopped training or got sick. Now I focus mainly on whole foods, which is healthier in the long run.

Eggs – 6 × 200 = 1200
Asitis whey concentrate – 2400
Soya chunks = 300
Gym = 400

Total = Rs 4100 per month.
Since I live at home and we have both veg and non‑veg options, I don't need to buy a lot of groceries out of pocket.

Your budget looks spot‑on and you're doing it right. People who spend over Rs 15k a month usually waste cash on extra stuff like BCAAs, fat burners and pricey pre‑workouts that do nothing for real muscle growth. For a regular guy, a solid budget is around Rs 5‑8k, covering gym fees, a trusted whey protein, creatine and daily whole foods like eggs or soy. You don't need to spend more than you're already doing to build an impressive physique.

I guess it's around Rs 5‑7k. My whole family eats non‑veg, so protein is taken care of.
Gym fees are Rs 2k. I don't take whey or creatine, but I do use collagen and omega‑3, which cost about Rs 2600.
