I wanted to ask people here who were laid off in the last year or so, were you eventually able to get another job if yes, what helped you the most during the process I am asking because I was laid off a little over 3 months ago and I have around 2 years of experience but I still havent been able to land a new role yet I have been applying consistently but responses have been pretty limited so far another thing thats starting to worry me is the growing gap and how that might affect my chances going forward
Hi I am sorry to hear that I would like to talk about this with you I have 0 years of experience and I want some advice can I send you a private message
I got laid off 6 months ago I am a java full stack developer with 1.6 years of experience to be honest the market is dead for developers with less than 2 years of experience I see most of the software development engineer roles are asking for 2 plus years of experience I got a few interviews but none of them aligned with my skills and experience as a few of them were for python full stack and others were for 2-4 years of experience
I got laid off in October 2025 and I got the job in February 2026 I am a frontend developer with 9 years of experience
I wasnt laid off but I quit my last company in October I gave a few interviews since then and got two offers I joined one of them last month and my resume or my last company are not even great I had a career gap and I currently have 2 years of experience so keep trying if I can do it then you can as well all the best
I have 22 years of experience I am a full stack llm developer and now a technical manager dont worry guys jobs for experienced people are intact the only problem is there for freshers and salary hikes are not as good as earlier the IT industry needs more experienced developers than freshers now
Being laid off can really affect your confidence especially when weeks pass without many responses but 3 months is still a very normal phase in the current market many people are taking a few months before landing the next role what matters more is staying active during this time keep applying keep improving your skills and try building or updating a few projects so the gap doesnt look inactive layoffs are quite common now so most recruiters understand it they usually look at how you used that time dont lose confidence with 2 years of experience you already have a base keep pushing and something will definitely work out
Got laid off in October 2025 it has been more than 5 months I have 4 years of experience in web and mobile full stack no luck until now just hoping for the best
Got laid off in August 2025 with 3 months of experience got a job now
I am a junior developer with around 1 plus years of experience I was an intern for 6 months got laid off in December 2025 it has been around 3 months and I am still struggling to get a job I dont understand what to do
I got laid off last week I was able to land 3 interviews within a week I bombed one and cleared the technical round of two one company ghosted me after a call with the director and I am waiting for the result of another one I am a frontend developer with 4 years of experience I still get some calls but they dont result in interviews I am thinking of taking a month break to learn nodejs to expand my options I am using the Namaste Nodejs course I already know some nodejs so I am confident I can learn enough to crack full stack or 1-2 years backend jobs simultaneously I am doing some leetcode as well so that I dont get caught off guard in interviews
